prime time

A Show About Criminal Investigation
NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is a very popular show, which began as a spin off of another popular show called JAG, in 2003. I am among the many viewers ranging from teens to the elderly, who enjoy watching shows such as this one, that deal with the forensic science side of solving crimes. My Mom and I watch all of the CSI shows each week.
NCIS deals with a main cast consisting of five men and two women. There really isn't any one character who is in the leading role, they all have a bit of history that has been told about them through out the story line. Members of the cast are as follows:Leroy Jethro Gibbs "Gibbs", lead agent of the team, Anthony "Tony" Dinozzo, agent who is always trying to impress Gibbs, Ziva David "Ziva", a multilingual Israeli super agent and the only female minority,Timothy McGee "McGee", young baby faced agent who is super with computer programs, Abby Sciuto "Abbs or Abby", Lab technician, Donald "Ducky" Mallard, Medical examiner and Leon Vance "Director", the Director of the NCIS Agency. The shows characters are of the ages between the late 20's to early 60's, the oldest ones being Gibbs, Ducky and the Director. All the characters are healthy and fit.
The women are portrayed each week as highly educated professionals in their field. The occasional ribbing between Tony and Ziva, as to which of them is the better agent, seems to be the only discrimination against women that I have seen on this show. And actually I really don't think of it as that. I see this as more of a silly bantering between two colleagues who are also friends. The characters all work together as one team, solving crimes by collecting, viewing the evidence and tracing down their killer. Ziva dresses as a professional woman, wearing stylish suit jackets and dress pants. Abby dresses in the "Gothic" style, which would appeal to the teenage viewers. I feel that the show portrays women in a positive way, showing that they are as highly educated in their field and can do the job as well as the men on their team can.

Super Bowl Advertisement

The Super Bowl allows this type of advertising because it helps to pay for the game being televised. It also demands top dollar from the advertisers. It draws in more viewers. It helps to promote sales for the companies that are advertising. Viewers enjoy these commercials and everyone likes to eat and drink.

Your vote

I did not vote. Yes, I was old enough to vote I just didn't feel anyone worth voting for was running. What we need is someone that is going to do as they say. Not just say what the people want to hear like they all do. I don't like government stuff its all one BIG LIE. So that is my feelings and the reasons why I did not vote.

Character

In today's Presidential race, I think the media focuses on the candidates visual image more than their character. If someone like Franklin Roosevelt were running for office today and the media focused on his physical handicap, he would never win the election. Our society seems more interested in how others look on the outside, rather than seeing each person for who they are on the inside. This is true with all of the advertisements that show actors and actresses with the perfectly shaped bodies, perfect smiles and lots of sex appeal. I think that we as a society should start looking at the more positive side of each other and not the negatives. And when looking for a President, we should be looking at who he/she is and what he/she stands for, instead of what they look like.

downloading music

I do agree that the people who actually write and perform the songs on these CDs do deserve to be paid for the work they have done and to have the recognition for their accomplishments. But on the other side of the coin, I disagree because the cost of most CDs today are over twenty dollars each. And many people cannot afford to purchase them. They are struggling to pay their bills and keep their homes. I think that since the music that is offered online has already been purchased by the people who are offering the downloads, that the royalties have already been made and this should be legal to do as long as it is for your own personal use.

me and music

As a teen I liked all kinds of music and some of it upset my Dad. We had all kinds of styles. The styles of my time and them of my dads, well were a whole lot different. I think the reason why my music bothered the older generation (my parents) is because they don't understand the styles of music I like.
Well here is my history of music that I grew up with as a teen. I grew up listening to mostly heavy rock, like Ozzy, Kiss, AC/DC, just to name a few. I also listened to Rap. This is a few of the groups that I like, Kid Rock, 50 Cent, Eminem, Akon, Lil' John, Lil' Wayne, Lil' White, DMX and Birdman. I listen to Country music also. Some of the artists I like are, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Scooter Jennings, Johnny Cash, both Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffett, Charlie Daniels Band, Blake Shelton, Bucky Covington and Dierks Bentley.
This is some of the music my parents and I liked to listen to when I was growing up. Classic rock that I like included artists such as, Bruce Springsteen (The Boss), Rick Springsteen, The Beatles, The Byrds, The Lovin Spoonful, Fleetwood Mac, Lynard Skynard, Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top. I think that this is the style of music that my dad wishes I was still listening to now.
All the different styles of music today generated from the different styles of prior generations. An example of this would be how Elvis inspired The Beatles with his sound and movements. Each generation took something from the prior generation and modified the sounds, instruments and style.
This is the music that I grew up with, the music I enjoy listening to and the way that I believe that it was founded. I believe that if it wasn't for the blues, we wouldn't have all of the different styles of music today. They paved the way for many new generations.
